Scott attended college at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and received a BFA in Fine Arts of Photography 2001. Since then, Scott Dere has opened a studio based in Long Island, New York, called Art Photographers. In 2015 Scott earned the Master of Photography medal from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and in 2018 he received the Master Craftsmen award. Scott Joshua Dere has had many clients including celebrities such as Phil Collins, Ellen Barkin and more, as well as photographing alongside some of the best photographers in the industry. In the desert, Scott traveled between events and often photographed alongside National Geographic's Canon Explorer of Light, Charles Glatzer, and Paul Nicklen in the Great Bear Rainforest and the Arctic.
